Whole Brain Teaching
Incorporating innovative models of instruction helps to lift the level of student engagement. Whole brain teaching, including movement, repetition and music helps to support and differentiate for the WHOLE child

Centers
A Look into My Classroom

Centers and stations promote active learning that focuses on group work and strategic and critical thinking. Students are able to discuss their thinking and work, while collaborating and learning from each other.

Students in charge of their own learning
My students are provided with multiple opportunities to learn from their peers, work together, and participate in inquiry-based activities that give them ownership of their own learning and keeps them engaged. They are also given opportunities to present their work in a way that works best for them. Some may want to respond to a prompt using a Flipgrid video, some may want to make a presentation on Google slides, while others prefer pencil and paper.

Small Group Instruction

I provide multiple opportunities for small group instruction throughout various lessons so that students can be provided with the support they need.
I create cross-curricular materials so that students gain a well-rounded educational experience, and make strong connections to various topics.

Clear, explicit Instruction
I provide my students with clear, explicit directions and various ways in which they can present their work to me. I understand that each child works differently, so I provide them with opportunities to present their best work either on paper, or through the use of technology. However they decide they work best, I am sure to be concise in my directions and expectations.
